Following on a tip off From slobberchops@slobberchops I made a visit a week or so later. Here is my take on it.

So I drove past the old place and thought “that’s nice”, never parking close by my visits I ended up a few streets away. Got out onto the cobbled street, half expecting to bump into Vera or Jack Duckworth ‘Twas just like Coronation Street, though a more run down, dare I say squalid area than I expected.

When this was built and for centuries it must have been surrounded by rolling fields and open countryside. A big school is now it’s neighbour. I did expect to bump into some smacked up locals.

... and a sign which tells me to “ come on in, enjoy the visit”

“Access is easy” I was told,“ not only is the door gone but half the wall too”

Hmmmmm! Now I’m not saying I had to scale the Everest of black bin bags that had been dumped recently but it was akin to a hike over the Annapurna range!

Urbex Rule #54: always look for, and photograph the bottle of HP sauce a simple delicacy but an Urbex icon.

A wander round the broken and sad ground floor rooms delivered some nice treasure

Seems like an artist of note was in residence at some point. Deciding I didn’t want to fall into the cellar a quick hop skip and a jump and I was up these stairs in no time
