Urban exploring is not easy you know, most often driving miles on a hunch, you win some you lose some. Fails as @slobberchops would say.
Doors bolted, windows in tact, not even slightly ajar. It happens. Sometimes to soften the disappointment one comes across ( if you are posh) accessible outbuildings. To me they are “sheds” nothing more nothing less. But most “oh joy of joy” are laden with treasure and grot.
I’m nearly as happy rooting round here, call me weird, call me warped, but as DeNiro said ‘never call me late for dinner”.
Back in the day as a young lad barely in his teens, I knocked around with a lad whose dad had a great shed, couple of chairs, curtains neat and tidy tool racks. And secrets, secrets I’m sure Mrs Parry knew nothing of!
Wednesday after school was the highlight of the week Pazza’s mum and dad both at work, Pazza knowing where Mr Parry thought the had secreted the key.... and us two lads enjoying the stash! Revellie; Titbits; Parade; THE men’s mags of the day, topless and pants were the order of the day but as a 13 yr old titties were king! Albeit black and white. (Sure beat the underwear section of my mums Littlewoods catalogue). Life couldn’t get any better, could it?
“Dad’s got some new stuff’ kept me going through Greek and Roman history!
Oh my god! Health and Efficiency, the mag for naturists, and in full colour too, page after page of wonderful naked ladies playing volley ball on the beach, tennis in the garden. I was transported to a new world, a world that didn’t end with titties.........
....... then I turned the page. I still can’t explain my feelings at seeing some 70 yr old granny with humongous “titties” hanging down to her waist, and a vadg that looked like a butchers bin.
It didn’t kill my love of sheds, but it haunts me every time I go mooching in one!
The first time I visited Ivy Cottage I just couldn’t get in, new strong boards had been fixed over the basement window, the only way in. I mooched around the sheds, there were several.
Plenty of grot in Mr Davy’s sheds
Tins of this, bottles of that.
Who goes down to the shops and asks for a bottle of “shitty ass” hmm? I keep checking the middle in Lidl but it is yet to appear
A good selection of prize certificates........
...... but the magazines didn’t make muster
The second bunch comes from a road trip in Devon, a couple of bikes and more than enough grot to make it enjoyable
Happy days in the shed
