Hello, I am sure that many of you have heard about „Souls-like“ game named Nioh. So here are my first impressions about this game and as a bonus I made a gameplay video 😊
Gameplay
I hate when every game is compared to Dark Souls series, but this game is really similiar to it. It has the same formula. Your main attacks are light and heavy attack, you can use ranged weapons and few spells, but they are not as good as good old light or heavy attacks. The next important thing is that when you kill an NPC you gain „experience points“ and if you have enough of them, you can level up your stats. However when you die, you drop your „experience points“ on the floor and you have to pick them up, before you die again, otherwise they will be gone for ever. NPCs are respawned every time you use „sanctuary“ – these will refill your elixirs (HP potions) and allows you to level up. Levels are one big maze, so sometimes you just have to take a risk and hope, that there is another sanctuary close or die and lose everything. Each level has epic boss fight and for me, boss fights are the best thing on game like this. Because you feel real victory if you manage to kill the big badass boss.

Graphics
On PS4 you can choose between 60fps and 720p or 30fps and 1080p and trust me, this game doesn’t look good at all, it is not ugly, just out dated. I play it on 60fps, because every fps counts in these type of games and sometimes I really want to switch to 1080p. It is not for “graphics is the most important thing ever” guys. However I am big fan of Japanese culture, so I am in heaven when you meet Japanese mythology creatures.
Will I continue?
Definitely, first boss can be pain in the ass for many players and that is why I play it. To feel accomplishment. NPCs are fun to kill and the first boss really supriced me how tought he was. So if you are looking for a challenge, give it a shot, but if you just want to chill out I would not recommend it to you..
