Hello! I’m in Bali, what to do in Bali? Surfing for sure!
Currently so obsessed with this amazing sport. To be honest it is not an easy sport, it is really challenging your physical. The most usual misconception bout surfing that we must be a good swimmer. That is partially true, yeah you need to be a good swimmer if you wanna take it more seriously/going for bigger waves.
Kuta Beach is blessed with a very good learning waves for beginner(waves are less erratic and consistent in height). As a beginner I really recommend you to get the longest board available in the surf school(e.g: 8’ or 9’). Longer board are more stabil as they’re built to be more buoyant and to “glide” the waves. If you happened to be in Bali I recommend you to get lesson from Baruna Surf (just opposite Beachwalk Main Entrance). Surfing lesson should cost you around 200,000 rupiah including 2 hours of board rental while the board rental alone will cost you 50,000 rupiah per hour.
