I had just finished writing the post before this on my phone. I felt sleepy and laid on my bed with my phone in my hand. Well, the phone fell in a bucket of water close to my bunk. This wasn't the first time a phone of mine would be falling in water. The first occurred when my brother put my phone in a pot of soup. Well the phone wasn't lucky because the soup was being boiled, it did not live a minute more.
I removed the phone from the bucket of water immediately and removed the battery. I then shook it to remove the water. After some time I put it on. Then the screen began blinking on and off I removed the battery immediately and let the phone dry. It was late so I had to go to sleep. I had a restless night because of it. The next morning I tried putting it on it came on but it refused to stay on. I was scared something had happened to it. I just decided to keep it and wait for the sun. But we had a cloudy sky all through that day. I just decided to take it to someone who could help me with it the only thing he did was to remove the water with heat and charged me at a high price of 1000 naira. I had no choice I just wanted my phone to work again. When he was done the phone came on. I was glad but it seemed to remain in the Android start screen. I was afraid and I thought my phone was in a boot loop. The technician told me the phone needed flashing I just ignored him and went ahead to make a mistake of clearing EMMC memory. With that I lost all my data. I was devastated but I wanted the phone to be operational again. But after that the phone still repeated the same thing. It was then that I knew I cleared my data for nothing.
I finally left the place tried to on it again and left it as it was. I was surprised when it came on which showed that it was not in a boot loop. After that I did a factory reset which remedied the problem. The screen was self operating so I opened the phone and let it dry under the sun.
This is it opened up an drying.
And right now I can say the only problem I have with it is the camera and sometimes the three bottom buttons refuse to work. I hope for it to stabilise soon. But it's good I can still post here with it. I feel so happy that my phone came back to life. I might have taken some wrong steps but I was lucky they did not have adverse effects on the phone. I'll will be writing a post about the do's and don'ts when your phone goes for a swim.
