I greet you dear friend. Surely you have had intense moments of solitude and it seems to you that loneliness consumes you in its silence and emptiness. In these circumstances, it is important to remember that a wonderful benefit is to seek communion with God and feel his sweet company around us.

When many can turn their backs on you, God keeps your arms open to protect you from your loneliness.

God seeks the lonely as he also sought his people Isael in the desert.

In the Holy Scriptures, we find, again and again in the Old Testament, that the Lord takes the initiative to reach his people and reveal himself to them, for his intense desire to be with them and keep in communion with them. In 1 Samuel 12:22 we find this promise of God: "For Jehovah will not abandon his people, by his great name; because Jehovah has wanted to make you his people." God desires to have fellowship, harmony and communion with those who correspond to his expressions of friendship.

You can count on the intimate company of the Lord, so that everyone will leave you. We see this in the life of Jesus. The same night he was arrested and subjected to the trial that led to his crucifixion, he told his disciples: "This is the hour that is coming, and it has arrived, when you will disperse by your side and leave. I alone. " Can you feel your pain in these words? Jesus knew how loneliness feels, but he added: "But I am not alone, because the Father is with me" (Jn 16:32). Jesus also knew the comfort that can be received in the midst of total abandonment.

When loneliness overwhelms us, the first thing we should do is stop looking at what we lack and appreciate what we have. And what do we have? To God Himself!

You can never be alone if you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior. He promises to live within you as soon as you receive him in his life, and is connected to you as the vine to its branches. Just as the sap flows through the plant and its branches, the love of Christ flows in you and through you. He remains in you, and you remain in Him. You are one with Christ. He has with him the deepest and most intimate relationship that exists, because he is spiritual and eternal (Jn 15: 1-9).

Now, dear reader, the depth of this relationship depends a lot on you. How willing are you really to Him being revealed? In reality, you can never completely isolate yourself from the Lord because He is always there, wishing you were closer and closer.
