Day 29 of HiveBloPoMo April Challenge
Yesterday my daughter picked up her new car. She never got to test drive one, didn't get to see one at the dealership, and had to order it and wait until it came in. I've never bought a car I didn't get to test drive first. I never had to order a car and wait weeks for it. Well, that's how it is now. There are NO new cars to even look at, except as a picture.
She's lucky, because when she was picking up her car, they said that the waiting list is now 6 months for the Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid - which is the car she got.
The below is not a picture of her actual car, but what it looks like. Hers is red. She didn't have much of a choice as to what color she got. They told her they would be getting in a white, black, and red one (yes, only three of them) - she could choose from those colors. White shows too much dirt. Black is too dark for the sunny and hot weather we get in the summer. So, she chose the red.
She could have had a car sooner, if she purchased a used car. However, those used cars cost MORE than the new car - $5,000 to $15,000 more. Yes, the premium price is because it is available! My husband watched her drive off the lot. He thought to himself that it used to be the price of a new car depreciates when you drive it off the lot. This time the price appreciated!
Now she has to figure out all the fancy things on that car!
