Again, been a while since my last Iceland post, I still have loads of stuff to post that I still haven't, soon it's almost a year since I went there. This time I have pictures of the coastal area of Westfjords. The landscape and roads there are simply amazing to drive and here I have photos taken on the road. I have driven there two times and both times I have been blessed with sunny weather.
Not all roads are paved and there are some gravel sections.
Overall there is very little traffic. There are basically no settlements nearby apart from some very small towns. All the little traffic there is mostly tourists like me. Most of the tourists skip the Westfjords part because they don't have enough time, they miss out big time but I'm glad they miss it because it's much more enjoyable without crowds.
If you plan to go to Iceland but plan to miss out on Westfjords because you don't have time then I advise you to reconsider. This is part of the country you really don't want to miss. In this particular section, you saw photos of are taken on the southern coast of Westfjords. God damn, I miss this place.
