So quite a few years back, I had watched this one Oprah show. I don't remember the guest's name, but he was proposing the idea of ALWAYS thinking positively and NOT to acknowledge the things less desirable.
Now, the audience was pretty skeptical and starting objecting using example of bad grades, should they just ignore these? You have to address some things. The guy actually was proposing to only see it and mention it, but then spend all the rest of the emphasis on how well the other grades are.
Anyway, he actually showed some evidence that it had a better outcome being this way.
I have not forgotten that show. One part of me was having trouble with this "pollyanna" approach to life, but the other part of me is well aware that it is the real truth. I just can't see how it could possibly work in the society of today and isn't it kinda like being fake? This guy tho, really showed intriguing evidence and I wondered what happened to this idea. The show came and went and I never heard anything more about the idea. I wish I could remember the name of the guy. It was years and years ago.
Anyway, lately, I've been thinking. I should try an experiment on this and just try to be this way. This positive outlook on everything approach and see what happens. I'm very curious to see if I can even do it! Maybe it will take awhile, maybe it will be easy. I guess it depends on whether I think it will be easy or not.
So I've decided to go ahead and try this positiveness and see what happens. I will keep you posted on how it's going.
