I was at work yesterday.

(Yeah, I'm not joking.)

We got the notice that the winter shift had been extended until April 22.

That's right, my employer has the power to extend seasons. Not the growing season though.

I have the power to do that, but sometimes I abuse that power.

(It's a little cramped in here)

I had big plans to start a bunch more seeds, but where am I going to put them? Another dumb thing I did was to plant a bunch of electric lettuce.

I don't even partake anymore. It sometimes makes me paranoid and I don't get enough pleasure from the good times to chance the bad ones.

My friend came by one day and had a bag of seeds that he was going to throw out. For whatever reason, I shudder at the thought of seeds getting wasted.

"I'll take them!" I said.

"Why? You aren't into that," he replied. "Besides, I already took the good ones out, most of these won't even germinate."

Challenge accepted.

So I took the bag with over a hundred seeds and started to search Google. There were all kinds of sites on how to tell which ones are good, but the best advice was to just try them and see. So I did with half the bag.

I quit after sixteen sprouted. It looks like fourteen will live.

I guess you have to wait until some start growing balls of pollen or something and get rid of them because you only want females. I'm just going to keep Googling it as I go along.

Did you know that recreational marijuana is going to be legal in Canada this year?

That shouldn't matter to me, but I need a bunch of work done this summer, and I know a lot of people that enjoy the recreational aspect of the plant that would probably like to barter for a bit of labour.

I also know some people who need the medical properties of the plant, so we have been looking at ways to help them out without it costing anything but our time.

Seems like a win/win if I can keep them alive long enough to harvest them.

Speaking of herb.

(I had to buy a few of them.)

I had a basil plant that had been growing under the lights all winter and as we ate it, I put the cuttings in water. It worked amazingly well, so I bought some oregano, rosemary, thyme, and some peppermint to try it with them too. We'll see how it turns out.

Oh and here is the overflow.

(That's supposed to be covered and outside by now.)

So, I'm just sitting here waiting it out when the yogurt fell out of the fridge and Gerri got upset thinking about cleaning it all up.

Then I had an idea!
