...but I am one of these people who likes to see where something is going.
That's why, when a tiny little tomato showed up where some oregano was supposed to, I let it live. I said that I would chuck it when it outgrew the pot, but here it is with roots poking out the bottom and I still have it.
(I'm thinking that it can stay in this pot for another week or so. What do you say?)
I'm glad too, because I just read @ewasteguy1's article https://steemit.com/gardening/@ewasteguy1/cloning-tomatoes
and figured I'd give that a shot. The only problem is that I don't know what tomato plant this seed came from. I thought I would never know, but then I read that tomatoes don't need any outside pollinators, so I am going to let this one go and see what kind of tomatoes it produces. If it's the cherry tomatoes we had last year, I will be very happy. They were Tiny Tim plants that we bought from the local greenhouse, but that wasn't until May. We started getting the odd tomato in late June, but this one is flowering now, so I'll get to have some tomatoes much earlier this year.
I don't know how old it is, but it's a pretty good size already.
(Blue quite enjoys cherry tomatoes.)
I'll have to prune it a bit, but I'm not too sure of myself yet, so I will watch some @projectdiaries videos and refresh my pruning memory. His vids are really good and simple to follow along, plus he's just a really good guy.
We also had this pop up in the rosemary starts.
( I wonder what it is.)
I suppose I should be sterilizing my mix, but I sort of like seeing what makes it through the worm bin. It's like my own little craps game where I'm always a winner. Last year I had a mango tree start, but I think I watered it too much and it died. There has been a lot of cantaloupes and honeydew, but I don't have the space inside to grow them out.
When we redid the kitchen, I took the old cupboards out before the guy could smash them and put them in my worm room, so now it's a worm/grow room. I am putting two foot Sunblasters in one of the cupboards and I lined it with a dollar store reflective beach mat. I put a seed heat mat underneath a tray and keep it watered. I should get a dome for over top, but this seems to work not bad for now.
(40 beefsteaks planted. Let's see what the germination rate is.)
Once they get going, I will move them down under the four footers and from there to the shelf greenhouse. I will leave Amazon affiliate links at the bottom, in case anyone wants to pick some up. I bought mine at the local greenhouse, but I know that not everyone has that option.
Anyhow, that was my yesterday project. I will wait to try cloning until I see how good the tomatoes are

These are affiliate links, which mean I will receive a commission on the sale. It won't cost you any extra, it just gives me a small percentage of the sale if you buy anything within one day of clicking one of the links. Every little bit helps, so thank you to all who choose to support us in this way.
We really appreciate it.
I can only tell you about the quality of the things we have bought. I have used the 48" Sunblasters for a couple of years now and have had no trouble. I just started with the 24" and so far they are good. I like that you can string eight together on the same power source with the included cords. The FlowerHouse is great because you can just move the whole thing outside to harden your plants off. Well, as long as you aren't using heavy pots in there. Mine were just in the seedling trays still.
