Welcome To My Blog

Hello friends. How are you doing today?
Good to have you visit my blog.

If you have been in a situation where your life flashed before your eyes or in a situation where you would have died, you will always thank God for your life. Some people are not privileged enough to go through that situation and survive it.
Sometimes people who experience a terrifying situation still don't recover from the shock or memories they had.
I have a friend who had an accident years back because of the force of how her car hitted the other one she fainted. Up till now once in a while she still has that fear. And she hates traveling or is scared of entering motorcycles.

Last year I wrote I had a very bad experience with flood that would have almost taken my life. It was a very terrifying situation. I just heard about floods but didn't know that water has so much power like that. You see fire and water they might see as just a natural gift but very powerful.
Last year, I traveled to Bayelsa during the flood period. When I traveled I knew there was a flood but it wasn't as intensive as it was when I was coming back.

I left on Friday just to come back on Sunday.I was with my friend so I didn't feel much more scared. A friend of mine just came back from Bayelsa to Port Harcourt told me the road wasn't that bad and the water wasn't that much but I should put on trousers so I could walk easily, I did as she said .
When we got close to bayelsa buses couldn't enter the water because it was too much so they had to drop us. When they dropped us we saw a truck and we entered that dropped us at our destination.

Going back to Port Harcourt where I stay was where the terrifying situation happened. We heard that the water increased tho but we couldn't stay much longer at bayelsa because cost of living was too high and we were done with what brought us there. Due to the flood issue, buses weren't available. The height of the water was higher than that of the bus that it would swallow any buses that entered.

We saw another truck. This time the payment we used while going was X2 what we paid when coming. They knew we didn't have any other option than to pay. There was no boat because the current of the water was so much that it could capsize a boat.
As we paid that bigger amount of money we were thinking the truck would cross us over to the dry land little did we know.

We were kept in the middle of the big water and asked to trek. After much complaining we wouldn't do anything but to start working. We started walking in two's because the current of flood can take one person. You must have a strong stamina to overcome it.
We got to the deep part of the water and I was really scared. The water was getting to my breast level. I have hydrophobia and I haven't swimmed before. It was as if I was going to get drowned that day.

I met a man who asked to come with him. He was with his life jacket and I think he works off rig and inside water. I held his hand as we began crossing. We were asked to remove our slippers so as to get a grip of the ground and not fall. Any little mistake can be taken by the flood. There was also a big rope tied to a very big truck that sang and we used it for support.

As I was in the water I was just praying and asking God to help me. My friend and the other girl there were already crying. My friend's leg was already shaking and more fear gripped me. I had to manage to tell her to be at my front so I will see her. After about 1 hour I managed to cross. As I got home I was already filled with fear, tiredness and cold. I just had to sleep. My phone, accessories and clothes in my bag were all wet because I was hanging it and it was in water.

It was really an experience I can't forget in my lifetime. That was my terrifying flood situation. If many people can lose their life through swimming, how much more a person who doesn't know how to swim in the middle of a big river.
