Few months ago, I was an intern in a hospital and during my stay there I met different people with HIV. Most of them were oblivious of their status and when I tell them they usually break down in tears. I'll then give them assurance that being HIV positive isn't the end of the world.
Working there made me realize that people who are HIV positive aren't aliens that should be avoided or ostracized, they are normal people that have families, goals and shortcomings like any other person. Some of them got it through accidental cuts or transmission from parent to child. We all make mistakes and it can happen to anybody.
People who are HIV positive shouldn't be avoided, rather they should be treated with care and love because most of them result to suicide as a means to end the stigma from society.
