The African Development Bank (AfDB), stated in 2018 Nigeria Economic Outlook, that the level of poverty in the country is very high.
Although Nigerian are hardworking and industrious people, but the situation of the country makes it almost impossible for the average national to be gainfullying employed.
Nursing mothers and children are the most affected in this ugly situation. Some nursing mother's have resorted to begging for arms on the street in order to cater for their financial needs and that of their children, exposing themselves to abuse and their children to diseases.
This leads one to ask "What could possibly be done to ameliorate such ugly situation? We can say that the government is trying it perceived best, but it's best is not enough.
Information Communication Technology could be an enabler, widespread disemination and transfer of required skill to women and girl child on how to earn a living with ICT could reduce this ugly development.
In conclusion, the use of ICT could help to reduce the poverty level in Nigeria.
