After much research and investigation, I decided to go ahead and buy an Bitmain Antminer L3+. While I understand crypto prices are currently falling, and probably picked a bad time to start this experiment, I will be powering the unit with solar power in an effort to maximize earnings.
In subsequent posts, I will be showing the solar array setup, unboxing and installing the L3+, and showing power generation to profit data.
The L3+ uses about 800 watts/hr. Currently, I have 6 - 100 watt Grape Solar GS-100 solar panels that produce about to 600+/- watts/hr. I will setup a battery bank to store power and may buy 2 to 4 more solar panels to cover the wattage deficit.
In the end, I hope to produce cryptocurrency more affordably and with less environmental impact. We'll see.
