For the longest time, acne has been one of my biggest battles.
Those tiny uninvited guests would show up on my face, and honestly? I used to pop them like it was a hobby. I can't help it and yes they leave a reminder for me - dark spots.
We
My skin type isn't even helping matters, it's oily and very sensitive. I have tried some face products like using cleansers and toners, face cream and even face wash and instead of helping, they end up brightening me unnecessarily or even irritating my pimples the more.
I was using this toner and cleansers, and they have helped my acnes.
At a point, I realized one important fact, that having a clear skin is a flex....but loving yourself while having your skin breaking out is a bigger flex.
Yes! Because during these battles I never hated myself of feel inferior around people with clear skin.
Whenever I am stressed , the acne comes out so much and these are usually times i have events to attend.
But recently, I noticed something changed. The hormonal acne reduced, and now I only break out during my cycle.
I started studying my skin, paying the ingredient some products have and understanding what actually works for me.
I noticed Kojic acids are very friendly to oily skin, and using products with kojic has given me real good results and honestly, it felt good to finally understand my skin.
But let me be sincere…
If I hadn’t built my self-esteem earlier, acne would have broken me.
Yet here I am — still beautiful, still confident, even on my “broken” skin days.
**Self-care is not only when your skin is glowing…
Self-care is also when you show up for yourself during your healing.**
I am still on my journey to having a clearer skin, still learning my triggers and learning a routine that works for my skin type not just trends.
Healing weather emotionally or skin is a progess so I just applude myself.
So, this is my self- care journey and I am proud of it. I am still beautiful, I am still worthy and I can still take picture.
One ingredient at a time. One healed spot at a time.
