On purchase we pay a non refundable recycling tax on most drink beverages and a 10 cent refundable deposit. Even though through my salary my hourly rate is higher than I get from recycling I feel bad if I don't get the refund myself. I can't exactly increase my salary by not going to the recycling center but if I could bill per hour I would probably think twice about it.
