Fortunately, I have tried the game a lot, but I must note that I am not a fan of basketball and can consider myself just a passing follower, I know only the main laws and some general movements and skills in the sport but I am not an expert in them.
I think my little knowledge of basketball is a positive thing when reviewing the game because I look at the game more abstractly without any background or player hookup.
GAMING EXPERIENCE
NBA 2K21 does not offer a basketball game, but rather it offers a comprehensive and general NBA experience, the experience is completely complete since the beginning of the game and you see the atmosphere that we are used to in the NBA.
Even between the matches of the match, you will find that the game shows an analytical studio of the performance of the two teams with some statistics, as well as the famous entertainment show that takes place in the middle of the match.
It is clear that this atmosphere was very important to the game developer, many of them cannot be skipped, only some can be skipped, and for me this was fun at first only the first few games and after that I started feeling repetitive and a little bored.
But in general, the developer was able to fully transfer the NBA experience to the game, and you will feel that you are watching and playing the game simultaneously, the simulation was so realistic that the substitute players move on the line and cheer their team and become frustrated or happy according to the course of the match.
NBA 2K21 is a repository for all the game modes that you want to imagine. You can of course play regular matches or customize the match you want in any number, whether 1 against 1 and up to 5 against 5.
The game also contains a large number of tournaments that you can enjoy as well as a group of famous classics such as My Career and GM.
Unfortunately, despite the great diversity in the game's stages, it does not differentiate anything from the stages of the previous versions, there is nothing new literally and transmitted by text from the previous parts. All this repetition was present except in a new single game mode, which is the MyTeam phase.
PLAY STYLE
The game is played very quickly, and this is because the sport is already played. If you are new to this game, you will feel in the first match that you are lost and many things happen on the screen in a fast rhythm that you cannot keep up with, but after several matches you will start to get used to this fast repetition and accept it and even enjoy it as well.
Even if you decide to play a little quietly, you will find that you need to learn passing tactics, because the game does not depend on dribbling a lot in getting the ball to the basket, but rather on making a series of smart passes until you reach the player under the basket until you make a successful throw.
On the mention of shooting, I have a negative here. The shooting system in the game is very complex. When you shoot on the basket an indicator appears and you must stop this indicator at a certain point in order for the shot to be perfect.
The problem is not with the indicator, but in how this indicator changes within the match, if you are under the basket you find the size of the indicator is relatively large and if you hit any green area inside it, you will get a successful shot with a large percentage.
But if you are on or outside the circle, you will find that this indicator has become smaller and the green zone has become very narrow, and even if the green zone becomes, you may not be able to score the goal because it must be hit right in the middle.
Likewise, if you are shooting while running with the player, the matter becomes much more difficult or if you are shooting and the player is under supervision, all these complications have made shooting a crisis, especially if you are a novice player like me and with the very fast rhythm of play, you will find yourself focusing on this indicator as if it is a game within the game.
GRAPHIC LEVEL
NBA 2K21 comes with a really impressive graphics level, from the design of the players and their bodies to the lights and the reflections of the ball on the field.
There is also a very great interest in the details of the audience and the personalities on the line, such as the hygiene worker that you will find holding the mop very realistically and using it as if he were a real person.
The good thing does not stop there, the game moves between the recorded scenes and the match very smoothly, and I am talking here about playing during the match itself, for example if you score a three-throw, a short ceremonial scene is displayed and then you return to the match smoothly and you will not feel this move at all, or for example when taking a kick penalty.
THE SOUNDS
The main menu of the game has a good collection of songs that break the boredom barrier while navigating these menus a lot in fact and not justified at all.
As for the comment, it was very distinct and not repeated, unlike other sports, but the lack of repetition here was linked to one match and when playing more than one match, you will find that the dialogue sentences are frequent, but in general the performance was elegant and you will find the commentator always speaking as if he was in a real match.
Conclusion: The NBA 2K21 game, unfortunately, fell into the trap of repetition in a very large way, as it is an exact copy of the 2K20 version.
