I normally go after liberals because I find their outrages to be extremely unnecessary and many times completely misguided. However, this time I am going to go after conservatives because seriously guys, this manufactured outrage doesn't help anyone.
So the story is that Nike "pulled" this shoe at the last minute and decided not to release it after one of their celebrity staff members, Colin Kaepernick tweeted his outrage about the shoe representing repression of blacks. The reasoning behind his outrage he claims is because the 13 star flag was the flag of the United States when there was slavery in the country. The fact that the Betsy Ross 13-star flag was the flag of the side that actually eliminated slavery in the US doesn't seem to factor much into his reasoning.
I know the real reason: He, like many people that don't really deserve their fame, struggles to remain relevant in society. Therefore, the only way he can stay in the public eye is to create controversy and then claim to be leading the charge for civil rights or something.
In case you didn't know Colin Kaepernick is an "average-at-best" quarterback who mostly played the bench for what was at the time, the worst football team in the United States. He wasn't getting enough attention after deciding to have huge hair, so he decided to become an activist by insulting the US flag. Sadly, this method worked and later, when no NFL team wanted to sign him, he claimed that it was because of racism and not because he was a terrible quarterback.
Anyway, as silly a man as i think he is, the manufactured outrage on the part of conservatives over Nike's decision to not release a shoe is just as dumb. I mean look at this shoe... were you honestly gonna wear this $200 ugly P.O.S.?

the hundreds of thousands of people that died representing that flag were actually relatively critical in ending slavery in America, but you know... don't let that get in the way of your virtue-signaling
The news has truly gone down the tubes in America. While the liberal outlets were doing their usual "Orange Man Bad" op-eds with a sprinkling of Chicken Little environmental demise propaganda, The conservative outlets like Fox were talking for hours on end about a fucking shoe. Yep, this is the world we live in now!
If someone out there wanted to capitalize on the ridiculous nature of all this, i am quite certain they could. Some random ass K-mart nobodies could come out of the woodwork and make a name for themselves and produce some USA shoes for people that don't mind looking like circus clowns could wear with great pride.

oh, nevermind, it already happened. You can order these eyesores from Printed Kicks for a mere $70
If Nike wants to buckle to every SJW whim as far as their damn shoes are concerned, that is their friggin business and your silly boycotts don't mean anything to them. The very mention of such a boycott only encourages the psychos on the far left to purchase exclusively Nike gear.... and Nike is very aware of this.
That silly looking USA shoe was not going to sell very well anyway and people generally don't think about Nike a great deal. These days, with the "outrage" mechanics being what they are, i think that most businesses are very aware of the fact that they simply need to do something just a little bit controversial and then they get millions of dollars of free advertising. Trump was able to get (and continues to get) tons of free advertising using exactly the same methods.
