Here's my take on why people, especially female, falls in love with K-Drama: They offers a very different display of relationships, be it friendship or romance, on screen than the western counterparts. I don' think I have watched any Nollywood movie so I can't comment on that. From what I see, Hollywood simply don't have a lot of dramas or movies that dive that deeply into a relationship. They are more straight to the point. He likes her, she likes him, okay kiss now or get rolling in the bed; whereas the K-drama focuses on the entire process. The first sight, all the things that run in their minds from day 1, the little tidbits in their minds, how their relationship affects them and all the flirting fun. I think only fiction gives relationships so much detail from the U.S. and the U.K..

Most girls just enjoy this sort of design more than anything else -- they aren't here for the result, they are here for the process. Once they discover K-drama(or other Asian drama/movie), they just can't go back. Ultimately, every culture just have their distinctive style, like I don't think any other industry can duplicate Bollywood style at all. They can copy the structure but it won't be authentic and just won't feel the same.

You probably never get bored of K-drama but if you ever wants to explore something else, I think Jdorama or C-drama will suit your taste. They share a similar structure as K-drama when it comes to writing and presentation of a relationship but have some slight difference (which would take me too long to write out lol) in their overall style. Or you can try Thai drama if you are into boy love.
