Traveling through mid to deep southern Italy, visited one of the most beautiful of views on the Amalfi coast.

The town of Ravello was founded over 1,600 years ago, just over 1,000 feet just above the coast. It was founded a shelter from the invasions at the end of the Roman Empire and eventually prospered as an important trading power.

The town today was once a much larger city of 25,000 people in the 12th century now declining to 1/10th this today, not counting its tourists.

If you visit, do not forget to miss the Villa Cimbrone Gardens, enjoy a nice coffee or drink in the gardens and soak in the beautiful smells and sights!
