When we listen to the teaching of the old path about baptism and marriage, we are being made to pause and reflect on how people complicate what God decided to make simple.

This was a straightforward explanation. Baptism is a response to the call of God while marriage is their response to the desire of humans. These two things should not be confused or tried together but as if one must go before the other.

What really stood out for me is that most of how we use scripture to show that the early Christians were baptized based on the reason that they have faith and understanding, not that marital status.

The example of Paul in the Bible who was being told why to raise the eyes and be baptized shows that God wants truth is understood so there was no requirement no demand for agreement or marriage just obedience to the will of God.

We are being reminded by brother Eli that about sensual desire leading to marriage was also striking too we are being reminded that marriage is a natural part of human life but you never block someone from answering the call of God.

In the end this teaching felt like a call to separate human tradition from the divine instruction given by God .Faith comes first that reason comes when the heart is ready everything else follows at that due time.
