I grew up in a fault valley with a big river running due north-south. I went to visit my sister in New Mexico and there were mountains 360 degrees. I was lost most of the time, could not get oriented, no river running north-south.

Finally I fastened onto the airport aerial and did a little better after that. So I understand the displacement and trying to figure out mountains. :))
