Saul was a Jew who showed great enthusiasm in destroying the Early Church but God had another plan for him which he never knew about. God had plans right from his birth, "to reveal his son in me,that I might preach him among the heathens; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood."(Galatians 1:16)
On his way to Damascus,he met face to face with Jesus Christ who said, Saul,Saul why persecuteth me? But this encounter changed Saul's life right from there. His name was changed from Saul the pharisees to Paul,an apostle who also writes the Bible.
Encountering God can change your life and His purpose will be made manifest but you need to discover your purpose from God because "An accomplishment without a sense of purpose is just meaningless". Life you are living without nothing to show for it is just emptiness.
Discovering your purpose is very important in one's life so that you will not be living as a walking dead. Even when you are living and people are seeing you are existing, without fulfilling your purpose, you are dead in God's eye. "Life without an understanding of life's purpose leads to disillusionment "
WHAT IS PURPOSE? Purpose is the reason why something is created. It can also mean the intention, aim or function of something (Oxford Dictionary)
Your creation into this world is for a purpose. God can never create something without a reason.
Genesis 1:1-3,
In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void;and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said,Let there be light:and there was light.
God saw the earth that it was empty and dark and He reasoned that His people in His own likeness cannot live in darkness, so He commanded the light for a purpose. It's purpose is to take away darkness from the face of the earth. That is why we walk in light till today
God also created the first man and woman(Adam and Eve) for the propagation and growth of His kingdom but since disobedience came in,they missed their opportunity in God's Kingdom.
It is one thing to understand our purpose and another thing to work towards it. We need to act and work towards achieving our purpose which is God's delight.
You need to go back to your source(God) because He knows why He created you and endowed you with such personality, talent and ambition that makes you unique.
God knows the purpose of why we are created both the good ones and wicked ones. He said His purpose for the wicked is to destroy them at the end.
Proverbs 16:4,
The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the days of evil.
Since God created us differently, so is also our purpose different. Let's take a chair and table for example. Despite that the chair and table are meant to be together, they don't serve the same purpose. The chair is used to sit down while the table is used for putting things on.
We may be born of twins but that doesn't say our purpose is the same. God has different purpose for the people He has created. God's purpose for creating us is not to harm us but make us great and useful to Him.
Jeremiah 29:11,
For I know the thought that I think toward you, saith the LORD,thoughts of peace, and not of evil,to give you an expected end.
Anybody who fail to fulfil his purpose on earth will be questioned by God when he gets to heaven. That is why you need to get closer to your source to know why you are created.
The poorest man on earth is the one without dreams, one without purpose because it is your known purpose that will make wealth for you but if you refuse to identity your purpose, your life is at stake.
Each of one has assignment we must fulfil here on earth. God doesn't just form and made us, He made us with a purpose to fulfil. In every seed,God made it to be a forest. In every girl,He made woman. In every boy,He made a man and in every man,He made a nation.
If God didn't have reasons for us being created,He wouldn't have done so but He knows us more than we do,unless you go to Him to reveal your God-given purpose to you,you are just living and not existing.
1Peter 2:9,
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priest hood,an holy nation, a peculiar people;that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called out of darkness into his marvellous light:
God has chosen a generation which is you for a purpose. What is that purpose? He chose you so that you can from darkness come into light by praising Him.
God chose Jonah for a purpose,he is to go and deliver God's message to the people of Nineveh but he refused but after God punished him,he pleaded with God and He gave him the chance.
Jonah never knew his purpose is to deliver the people of Nineveh until God dealt with him and had to encounter God again and he was able to deliver the message. What happened next? An ordinary one man delivered the whole city.
