That headline should stand out. I won't normally get into these heady kinda posts but I just read an article that said this barbaric practice is now taking place in my homeland of Canada and it makes me sick!
FGM, if you don't know what it is or why people do it I'll allow you to google it for yourself as I don't even want to explain it. It's practiced predominantly in North Africa and the Middle East right now but it's spreading as more people move around this spinning globe.
Apparently the tools used in this disgusting act are sometimes found at our airports as Canada is upping our immigration and we're seeing more people from all over the world coming to Canada to call it home.
I have no problems with anyone, I don't care what religion you practice and I don't care what you believe in, but there is no way in hell I could ever get behind the logic of harming a young woman in such a way.
While the practice is illegal here, our Prime Minister Mr. Nice Guy wants to remove the part about FGM from the material new citizens are handed out when they arrive.
The pkg new immigrants recieve just details our values and welcomes them to Canada. There is one piece that talks about our laws that may differ from the rest of the world, a subsection inside briefly clarifies to newcomers that we don't engage in barbaric acts such as FGM here.
He's facing some backlash from female members of Congress that feel it should be known by new arrivers that in Canada FGM is illegal. Some feel Trudeau is just a pansy and trying to be too accommodating to our new citizens and doesn't want to offend them.
I just wanted to put it in the blockchain forever that FGM is disgusting and wrong. It's barbaric disgusting and wrong! We don't want that shit in Canada and it shouldn't take place anywhere on this planet!
