The New York Stock Exchange creates Bitcoin Bakkt Exchange
The ICE stockbroker, ICE, announced the creation of BitToin's Bakkt platform.
As announced, this digital platform will act as a currency exchange, cloud wallet, and will offer daily futures contracts where it will be paid in the Bitcoin digital currency.
Their plans, however, are not limited to the creation of yet another spare digital coin, but they aspire to create a worldwide Bitcoin payment network for digital and physical stores.
- Bakkt will work with companies that include BCG, Starbucks, Microsoft and others to create an open ecosystem that supports growing needs in the $ 270 billion digital asset marketplace.
The creation of the platform is in partnership with Microsoft while Boston Consulting Group and Starbucks are involved in this project.
Starbucks has announced it will be the first retailer to use Bitcoin and digital coin acceptance platforms in its natural stores around the world.
The platform is expected to operate in November, while no further details are yet to be found, especially on how to implement the commercial payments network.
