Tomorrow, downtown Rio gets the kind of session that makes a city feel alive.
GNAR CONNECT RIO is not asking anyone to choose between the Brazil match and the skate gathering. The whole point is the opposite: come early, catch the game together on the big screen, and stay when the energy flips into a full night of skateboarding, music, art and community.
On July 5, the doors at Lado B open at 16:20. At 17h, Brazil hits the screen. Then, from 19h on, the main program takes over: the inauguration of the new Lado B x SkateHive mini ramp, a best trick session, DJs, live acts, new releases and a room full of people who actually shape the scene.
There is something right about watching football before a skate jam in the center of Rio. It feels local. It feels social. It feels like a real invitation instead of a polished campaign line.
That is the spirit here. Arrive early. Watch Brazil with the crew. Share a drink, talk nonsense, see who pulled up. Then let the night open up the way a good street event should: naturally, loudly and with everyone already warmed up.
From 19h forward, GNAR CONNECT RIO gets fully moving.
The new mini ramp becomes the center point with the Lado B x SkateHive inauguration and the best trick session. The music side comes heavy with DJ Cavalcanti, Bagunço, DJ Wilbor, Ghetto ZN and one surprise attraction still under wraps. On top of that, the night brings the launch of the GNARS x NOGENTA collab, the presentation of NOGENTA ZINE 01, and the premiere of NOGENTA x SkateHive in Rio.
This is bigger than a flyer and bigger than one night out.
A new mini ramp means a new meeting point. A collab drop, a zine launch and a local premiere mean more reasons for different parts of the culture to show up in the same place. GNARS, SkateHive, NOGENTA, Soma and the Rio scene are all part of the same conversation here.
There is also a personal side that makes the whole thing even more real: the event celebrates Vlad's birthday and Marcelo Marbal's 50 years. That matters because scenes are built by people, not branding decks.
And the entry is already part of the project itself: it is a collaborative fundraiser for the ramp. If you want to support the movement, or drop Vlad a birthday gift with no excuses, there is also a direct way to back it and get your name on the mini ramp patron leaderboard at rampa.skatehive.app.
