Its funny though that most times we as humans don't know what we really need.
2nd Kings 2:9-10 tells us the story of Elisha and Elijah where Elisha asked Elijah what he wanted and without Much hesitation Elijah said he wanted a double portion of Elisha's anointing and it was given him as he requested.
Now let's look at the lame man at the beautiful one would think that he would ask that his ankles be strengthened but instead he asked the Apostles for alms.
Its so pathetic that some Christians are like the lame man at the beautiful gate but i pray that may God in his infinite mercies help us.
Another person that knew what he actually wanted was the blind man that was crying out for help from Jesus(Mark 10:51). When he was asked by Jesus what he wanted he said he wanted his sight to be restored, he didn't go for long sermon he just said exactly what he wanted because perhaps such opportunity may never pop up again so he grabbed and seize the opportunity so fast.
Many of us may have missed several opportunities because of too much explanations that were all call for but I pray God help us by giving us a second chance.
Lastly as a child of God, its better for you to go after the Giver of gifts than the gifts themselves. This is the most needful pursuit of anyone's life and it's the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
