What you say goes a long way to even start with. Words build up; they are like bridge that construct. It can be something to consider as a wise saying; don't conclude on a man that is yet to conclude on himself. People will always say something; many from what they are sensing physically. I know, this category are mostly the noise makers.
Let's not go too far, as usual, God's word hit my heart again this evening. Anytime I get such an opportunity, there is a need to build on it and one of it is to try and translate it into writing. So what did I hear; ‘Who do people say the son of man is? Who do you say I am?
Two questions put together and as a believer, there is a need to keep this statement close to heart daily, especially the latter part. So where can we find this statement in the scriptures?
Matthew 16:13-16 NIV
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” [14]They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” [15]“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” [16]Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Before even going further, did you see how Jesus was mostly concerned about what they disciples would say rather than what the general public said. Adding to that, he wanted to turn their mindset away from how others were seeing him. Jesus knew that they too were seeing him that way.
How can we tell?; everyone rushed to contribute in the earlier but only Peter spoke in the former. So why was the latter very much important?
God is for everyone but encounters are personal; this is what will keep you going even in tough times. Strength (transforming faith) is built when knowledge is present.
1 John 1:1-5 NIV
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. [2]The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. [3]We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. [4]We write this to make our joy complete. [5]This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
So we come back to that question; what's your take on Jesus Christ. Are you still flowing with the masses? Do you know Jesus, how do you know Him and what can you personally say about Him? Make sure you are not joining this train because the name is trending. Go deeper, there are things flesh and blood cannot reveal
