Hey, practicalthought@practicalthought.

Supposedly, my UI is in the mail, in the form of two separate checks, the one from the state, the other from the feds.

I claimed on Sunday, it's taking until Thursday to receive it, even though yesterday was supposedly their deadline day.

Now, I'm not sure why it needs to be two checks. Seems a little inefficient, but apparently they'd rather go to the extra time, effort and expense to spit out two checks just to keep the two amounts separate for all 270,000 or so of us here receiving regular UI and the stimulus UI?

Oh, but there's more.

I filled out information on the UI website to have mine direct deposited. You could say, well maybe it didn't take, and I would agree with you because their system is antiquated and actually did crash. However, last week, my official waiting week (which we're not supposed to have thanks to the stimulus bill), they somehow managed to send $0 to my account, because I saw it pending when I checked my account online.

Now, I believe there are some who are masterminding social engineering, and that all of this lockdown and suspending of the economy could be used to that end. In this case, though, I'm willing to believe good old fashioned obsolescence, lack of proper redundancy and incompetence are the culprits. :)

Sad part of all of this is, if it weren't for the excessive measures to lockdown everything here, I wouldn't apply for UI. I'd be working. So, not only do they create the problem, which is over reach in the first place, their planned rushing to our aid is a bust, too. :)
