When you say unemployment stimulus money, are you referring to the $1,200 most adults will get, or the $600 from actual unemployment benefits? When you talk about her receiving it through applying in another state, that makes me think the latter.

As for me, I went to apply on March 22 only to be told that I didn't have enough quarters, so my benefit then would be zero. But if I waited until March 29 to apply, the new quarter would begin and I would have enough to get something. So I filed then. Then it told me I had to wait until April 5 to claim my first week. So on April 5, I did that. Then it told me this was my waiting week, so I can't see anything until next week. I thought, no it's not, I've already waited two, now I'll wait three!

It's so monolithic, even on the state level. They can't move fast enough to get anything to anyone when it's needed most. Not that I want them to be able to do it. It's just that they think they should for whatever reasons.

I haven't seen anything as far as the other goes, either, but it will certainly help when it does. In the meantime, we're back to living paycheck to paycheck.

Fortunately, my wife gets paid the Monday after next, and I can stagger paying bills long enough for that to arrive (plus there's some stopgap savings in case we need it—not much, but hopefully enough).
