There have been posts in the last day or two regarding the fact that Bittrex has listed a BTC/HIVE pairing on its exchange site.
That's pretty cool, considering STEEM is not yet up and running again (I understand it was there and then it wasn't), and HIVE isn't even a week old yet.
However, what I haven't seen pointed out yet is this:
I don't know if this is an ad, or just Bittrex in house promotion, but HIVE is rotating along with three other cryptocurrencies (two of which, at least, are pretty well known), in the banner up at the top of its market page (you may have to sign in first to see it).
I don't know if STEEM ever made it to such a perch for any length of time, anywhere—I just know I've never seen its logo prominently displayed on any site, exchange or otherwise.
Maybe this is a small thing. I still find it incredibly encouraging.
It will take a combination of things like this banner to get HIVE to where we want it to go. Press on prominent crypto news sites, innovations on the chain, more users—every little bit helps and in turns, stokes the fire for the rest, until it all becomes one entity, like a snowball rolling downhill.
I will also just say that HIVE is currently trading roughly $0.07 USD higher than STEEM at around $0.25 USD on significantly lower trading volume.
I don't know if any of this is awesome news for a crypto debut—maybe for the fork of an existing chain (?), but again, I find it encouraging. As far as I'm concerned, for the moment, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way.
