How Do I Overcome Peer Pressure Biblically? Mcgi Topic Review.
Peer pressure is a strong influence, especially among young people. As christians, we should not surround ourselves with people who will influence us negatively, we must be very careful about the kind of friends we keep as bad influences can lead us away from the word of God.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
There's a Saying that says "show me your friend and I will tell you who you are". Keeping bad friends will attract bad name and influence to us. When I was growing up, my parents never allowed I and my siblings to be friends with kids that lie, insult and disobey people, because they believed that young people are easily influenced. And even if we don't get influenced by them, it will attract a bad name because a friend of a thief will also be addressed as one.
As faithful christian, we must choose to obey God even when others mock, reject or pressure us to turn away from our faith and be like them.
Bro Eli emphasized on the role of parents and church leaders in helping young people build a strong spiritual life. With right guidance and knowledge of God's word, they will be trained to resist negative pressure.
This teaching is a powerful reminder that Christians are ought to live differently. We must stand firm in faith and choose friends wisely, knowing that friends come and go but we need God in our daily lives. Let our lives reflect God's word.
