Each day passes between books and accounts, visits and interviews, she leaves her job and when she arrives home what awaits her, the loneliness of an empty and cold house, she lights the fire in search of warmth, she loses herself in her memories of those old moments that although she tries to forget, they return to her mind with greater intensity filling her with fear towards others, denying her the opportunity to love.

The night comes and she only sees her life passing by through a window, she sees cars passing by, people walking and the loneliness envelops her, she only wonders what I failed in, will I be able to trust again in another person, will I give my heart again? Every night she asks me the same question and can't get the answers.

Another day comes and again she puts on her disguise of successful woman, with makeup she paints a face of security and happiness, but inside the loneliness knocks her down, lost in her thoughts she does not hear a knock at the door, when suddenly she sees an unknown man enter, who is this person? she wonders silently, he breaks the silence saying - good morning Miss Clara Guzman I am Estiven Garcia, my secretary made an appointment for me yesterday.

She gets up from the chair and greets him - nice to meet you, please sit down - they proceed to discuss the matters that concern them, while a strange sensation invades her body; she finds it hard to control her thoughts, her voice, her smell, she only asks herself: What is happening to me? I can't go on like this, I must concentrate, they finished the meeting and arranged a new appointment to finalize the details of the investment, he says goodbye with a smile and his heart begins to beat like never before.

During that afternoon she kept hearing that voice that was like music to her ears, when she closed her eyes she saw that man again and asked herself: "Estiven, what have you done to me, why can't I get you out of my mind? What would be her surprise when she left work and saw him standing there in front of her, with a smile that lit her up inside, she tried to control herself but her heart began to gallop like a horse without reins.

Estiven - excuse the abuse Miss Clara, I couldn't get you out of my mind all day, would you be so kind as to allow me to share a coffee with you?

Clara blushed - Mr. Estiven I didn't expect to see you again, it would be a pleasure to accompany you; inside I was jumping with emotion, is this love?

Estiven stretched his arm and Clara passed her hand over him, they went together to a nearby café, he as a gentleman rolled the chair for her to sit down and then he sat down in front of her, they ordered a coffee and started to talk, in their faces they could see their feelings for each other,

Estiven – Señorita Clara, podemos tutearnos

Clara – por supuesto Estiven

Estiven - Miss Clara, we can be on a first name basis.

Clara - Of course Estiven

Estiven - you won't believe me, but when I saw her at her desk lost in her thoughts, I felt a strong desire to protect her, I apologize if I make you uncomfortable with my sincerity.

Clara blushed -I apologize again, I didn't hear you knocking

Estiven - that already happened and as I was saying, that feeling of protecting her became so strong that I couldn't erase her image from my mind, then when I heard her voice so sweet, it captivated my heart

Clara, cleared her throat - Estiven, what are you saying?

Estiven - I know it's very soon and we are just getting to know each other, but I know what I'm feeling, I just want to ask you if you allow me to court you, I'm a single man with no ties in my past, I just want to know if I have any hope with you, of course if there isn't someone in your life already?

Clara - Estiven certainly for me is a surprise each one of your words and there is no man in my life, I accept that we get to know each other more and time will tell if there can be something between us,

Estiven smiled at her and with an overflowing joy told her - Clara, you will see, I will conquer your heart.

Clara was puzzled by her feelings, she wondered if I could fall in love with Estiven, if I could trust him, if I could leave my past behind and give myself a new opportunity to love and be loved, with these thoughts in her mind she fell asleep.

During the following weeks Estiven with small details and messages was conquering Clara's heart, she could no longer deny her feelings for Estiven, there was only one thing left to do, to confide her past to him, so she decided to invite him to her house and tell him what her heart was hiding and see what would happen with them.

When Estiven arrived, after a strong hug Clara asked him to sit down, and after taking a deep breath, she told him:

Clara - Estiven I thank you for all the love you give me, but I must confess you something about my past, which has deprived me of being able to accept a relationship during all this time, but you came into my life and you knocked down that wall I had put in my heart.

Estiven put his arm around her shoulder and listened to her in silence.

Clara - when I was a teenager, several neighboring families used to go camping on a small hill near the farm of one of our neighbors, but one weekend we decided to go camping just the young people, our parents didn't distrust any of us and I didn't have to distrust my friends either,

A tear came out of her eyes and Estiven, attentive to her words, wiped it with his hand.

Clara - that night the boys brought some fruit cocktails and soft drinks for the girls and they were drinking liquor, although the cocktail tasted the same as the one our parents always prepared, as the hours went by I started to feel dizzy and I went to lie down in the tent, when one of them entered the tent and without being able to defend myself he abused me. Estiven hugged her and tried to silence her to avoid her to continue suffering, but she kept on talking.

Clara took another deep breath and recovering her strength continued talking - when the effect of what they had given me passed a little and I realized what had happened, I ran down the hill among the silos of the crop, when I arrived home and tried to tell my parents about it, I saw that boy showing some wounds to my parents and telling them that I had gone crazy and that I had attacked them and I disappeared from the place and they were looking for me during the whole night, no matter how much I insisted so that my parents would believe me that things had not happened in that way, all the others who had gone to the hill that night accused me.

That's why after that incident I closed my heart, I decided to dedicate myself to study and get a career that could help me to leave that city and never come back, that's how I arrived to this city and I had a new beginning, although I have had suitors no one until now had managed to overcome that barrier that I placed in my heart, I don't know if I am ready to have a relationship and if you want to move away I understand.

Estiven hugged her tightly and kissed her on the forehead and said - Clara, you have suffered a lot carrying this pain for so long, my feelings are sincere, what happened to you was not your fault and this doesn't change my decision to be with you, I love you and I promise to help you to forget that terrible past.

Clara - it won't be easy to accept your approach.

Estiven - together we will make it, you are not alone anymore, you will have all the time you need, just don't take me away from you, I want to be your strength to hold on to me when you feel helpless and alone.

Clara - Thank you Estiven for your love, for breaking down that wall and giving me the opportunity to feel loved and to be able to love.

Then they embraced each other and promised to fight together to overcome that past, although it took time and therapies, the day came when Clara felt ready to forgive her parents for not supporting them when she needed them, leaving behind years of pain, loneliness and fear; she was ready to start again.
