A happy day to all my dear Hivers always welcome to my blog, for several days I have wanted to share with you a story that caused me much joy and satisfaction, but for health reasons it was almost impossible for me to dedicate myself to write on my pc, but thank God I am already a little better, which is also a cause of satisfaction.
A few months ago I met a woman who I will call Laura, she is 45 years old and about two years ago she was diagnosed with stomach cancer, something that could be noticed because her abdomen always remained swollen, something that captivated me about Laura was her optimism, despite the medical diagnoses she did not lose that joy that reflected in her face, together we talked about many topics but we never touched her illness, because she preferred that we enjoyed the time together in pleasant things.
So we only got to know about our families, our tastes and talents in common, every time there was an activity where we could learn something new she was willing to go as long as her health allowed it, if she could not attend I would share with her what we were doing and then when she felt better we would do it together, the satisfaction of being able to help and serve her filled my heart.
As many will know the medical assistance situation and the purchasing power of chemotherapy drugs in Venezuela is not easy, but Laura did not let this steal her faith, when I met her and she told me her situation, inside I wanted to cry, because she has to get ahead for her little daughters who are her driving force and for whom she gets up every morning trusting that every day will be better.
Because of the economic situation she could not receive her treatment for several months, but she said I have a very special doctor who does not need chemicals to cure me and I trust him, every week when she went to see if her assigned treatment had arrived the answer was negative, so again she repeated the same thing, my special doctor does not need chemicals to cure me, without losing her optimism she returned home with a smile on her face.
Three weeks ago we received a message from her with her picture and some beautiful words, in the picture she was ringing the cancer free bell, when I read her words I could not hold back the tears of the satisfaction I felt to see reflected in her face a smile not that I had not seen before, in her text she said:
"Dear family and friends I am pleased to share with you the great emotion that invades my soul, to be declared medically free of cancer, thanks to all those who prayed for me and my family, the satisfaction I feel at this moment can not be explained with words, you can only feel it, I can only tell you that with faith everything is possible, never stop fighting".
When I read this I could not help but be grateful for the immense kindness that I saw pouring into her, I felt that love for my neighbor that invades you and makes you be part of that emotion for the success achieved by that person whom you love selflessly, then when we saw each other the emotion was much greater, we hugged and cried for the joy of knowing that the moments of anguish and sorrow were left behind, now there is only the satisfaction of having rung that bell and with great joy to say "I thank God I beat cancer".
