Like most knitters watching Black Panther, I was enamored by Nakia's shawl. While in the theater, I elbowed my partner whispering "That's madeline tosh!" I even knew exactly what colorway it was.
I had been wanting to make something using Plaid Blanket for several years, and I felt particularly inspired after seeing it used so beautifully in the film. So here is my Black Panther inspired design. I will be writing up a pattern soon. It will hopefully be available for purchase early this summer. I am planning on having the proceeds from pattern sales benefit the University of Montana's Black Student Union, the third oldest BSU in the US.
