I know we most times are too afraid to ask for help, and I very well know the reasons why. Most people we rush to for help, always end up making us feel less of ourselves and that we are too good or probably they feel that while they worked, we did nothing to help ourselves but they always forget that nobody knows everything.
Maybe not financially but there are other ways that we seek help from people, emotionally, and presence but it still does not mean that nobody had ever sought help from others before. It is no lie that many people prefer to die silently or quietly rather than reach out to someone for help, not because they do not want to reach out but because they are scared of being mocked because they can't or couldn't provide for themselves.
A friend once told a story about how
"He asked a young boy in the class he was teaching back then to wipe the whiteboard, the boy took the wiper and started wiping, he got to a point and just stopped, he went straight to another girl in the class and gave her the wiper. He didn’t say a single word. Just handed her the wiper and the girl went to the board and continued from where he stopped."
The story said that the young boy did that because he wasn’t tall enough so he went to the tallest person in the class. No fuss, No plenty words, Didn’t matter that it was a girl and gave the wiper to finish up his cleaning."
*"The boy could have jumped or he could have stood on his toes and finished up his wiping but this young boy understood that it was okay to ask for help, that it was okay to do the much he could and just stop and allow someone else who could do it effortlessly take over", All that matters is that the board is clean.
The truth is, we don’t need to kill ourselves when our hands cannot reach us, don’t break your toes trying to prove a point, and it’s not about you taking the glory. It's not about being entitled, it's okay to ask for help, even if you would be mocked, at least you reached out.
Ask for help, you need finances, emotional, a shoulder, a friend, a presence, whatever help you need, the more reason why God made humans, was to be of help to each other.
