Collaborative Art Journey..."SLIVER'S EDGE" 1inFive
At times it feels the soul exists as nothing but a sliver,
While other times it bursts your skin, leaving you aquiver.
The source regardless of the force is testament you're tough,
That wherever you arrive within you'll always be enough.
This is my second contribution to
@everlove's Collaborative Art Movement.
Again I am playing on my phone, which has been fun. I've enjoyed not taking myself too seriously, which is very much in line with my current situation.
I find myself very frustrated at the moment as illness has prevented me from doing things I usually do.
But its also presented me with the opportunity to challenge my selfworth, and allow myself to not be everything I expect I should be in order to be enough.
This is very much a self portrait. Not necessarily a likeness, but a representation of me emotionally, spiritually, physically and psychologically at this time.
The crazy haired bobble head on a luminous spine does bear some resemblance.
I was very active and engaged in community work last year, which involved running many marathons to raise awareness for what can be only described as a pandemic. In Australia and I assume across human society we have a 1 in 5 chance of being sexually assaulted before the age of 18.
A 20% chance.
Those kind of odds for an illness that you will carry your whole life, and lets make no mistake it does cause life long suffering. Those kind of statistics should be unacceptable.
So I ran, and I shouted, and I raised awareness. Until I could run no more.
I have friends who continue the running and the shouting this year.
This is a silent suffering. On average those who do come forward wait 33yrs.
A life time of silent suffering.
So to support my friends in our continued campaign I have chosen to wear upon my head a loud and proud, and not at all pretty do.
In support of those who suffer silently I have developed a crown that is impossible to be ignored, and everyone who asks me about it will hear our story.
When they reach their #Bravehearts fundraising goal, I will shave it off.
Thank you for reading my post. Thanks to @everlove for your continued support.
