Hello everyone!
Time flies so fast. It's time for me again to share an update about our garden for this month.
Last month was the worst gardening season for me, because an eye of the storm had passed our place, and our garden suffered a lot. 馃槶
But, there's a rainbow after the rain. So, this is what our garden looks like now.
NEW LIFE
Early this month, there are signs of life. The leaves are sprouting on the moringa and papaya trees, and even the cassava plants.
Now, we can already see greens everywhere, a huge contrast from the denuded garden from last month. This time, I can say that our garden is refreshing to the eyes.
FLOWERS AND FRUITS
Few weeks ago, our American lime has three sets of flowers.
Amazingly, some week after, we saw little fruit slowly developing. Isn't it exciting too see?
But our calamansi (Philippine lime) is also showing off. I have never seen it bear so many flowers like this before while there are yet plenty of fruits! The white, jasmine-like flowers is just a delightful scene!
Yet the most delightful thing is harvesting the blue ternatea flowers everyday. Its vibrant hue adds color to the food in our table.
Here is the blue ternatea basking in the sun. We found that sun-drying is the best way to make it last long. Dried flowers can then be made into tea or blue water and even blue rice.
The okra, eggplant, tomato, are bearing flowers and fruits, too.
I am happy to see that our winged bean has also flower buds now. For sure, we will enjoy it in the next few weeks!
So our garden is quite colorful now. We have blue, yellow, purple, and white!
HERBS
Oregano
We have an enermous amount of oregano growing wild. But since we needed it, we just let it grow as many as it would like to. Hahaha!
They say that the kind of oregano that we have in the country is huge. Well, I haven't seen other kinds of oregano before so I cannot say anything about it. But this is the size of ours, almost the size of my palm. (I have a little hands, I know. Hahaha! 馃槀馃ぃ I don't know if it's a good idea to use my hands as a guage. 馃槀馃榿)
This is my son, getting some oregano leaves for his dad. (I have to mention my friend 
Growing up, oregano and sage are the medicines our parents make to treat our colds and cough. They squeeze the juice from the leaves and make us drink a teaspoon of it. Oftentimes they put salt so that it would be drinkable. But if we have honey, then it is the best mixture!
Sage
Our sage, I think, is the greatest fighter and resilient of them all. It fell because of rage of the storm, and we didn't think it would survive so we left it that way. But then from the fallen stem grew these branches. Amazing!
Spring Onions
OK. Enough about oregano and sage. Our spring onions are growing good as well. We use everyday, in almost all of cooking. We even use it in our omelettes, to make it extra colorful.
Lemongrass
The lemongrass are growing wild! It is best used when cooking fish stew. My mom is using it to stabilize her blood pressure.
NEW ADDITION
We have a new addition to our family!
Chadaaaaan!
This is cacao seedling. A friend have given this to us as a gift. She knows that we are making our very own chocolate made from cocoa, so she has given us cocoa seedlings instead! What a priceless gift!
Overall, our garden is well now. And no traces of brewing storm just yet. So hopefully, it will continue to be green as ever! 馃槏
