This is the beauty that I found in our garden. I have never seen a "twin" butterfly before, so these white butterflies caught my attention.
These butterflies amazed me because they never parted even if they fly.
They fly together!
I captured them in three different locations, flying from one leaf to another, probably being annoyed by my presence.
But they never parted! 😬

I googled it and yes, I guessed it right, these white butterflies were dating!
In their short lifespan, finding a mate is very important. Male butterflies find females by sight, and they use chemicals called pheromones to attract the right kind of mate. If the female accepts the male, they couple end to end and may go on a short courtship flight. They may remain coupled for an hour or more, sometimes overnight. The male passes a sperm packet called a spermatorphore to the female. The sperm then fertilize each egg as it passes down the female's egg-laying tube.
