We harvested our papaya this morning. I'm so excited to harvest its fruit that almost everyday I am checking if it is already good for harvesting. But my parents constantly reminded me to be patient, because it is tastier and sweeter if papaya ripens at the tree itself. Well, I guess that's the general rule for every fruit-bearing tree.

So this morning, while watering the plants, I checked it out again. And I saw that the fruit is already mostly yellow. I don't want it to be overripe, so I called my Mom for her to check it. She agreed with me. Now, it's time. I'm so happy!

We harvested five big papayas! I couldn't wait to eat some of it.

Papaya is rich in Vitamin C and is high in fiber. It is also known to aid digestion. So, in this rainy season (in the Philippines), it is best to have papaya as much as possible.

Looking back, I remember it was just a little seedling, but now it grew up to give us one of the sweetest papaya ever! And I look forward for a plenty of harvest in the months (or even years, hopefully) to come.
