Tacloban City, the city which was devastated by Supertyphoon Haiyan, has yet again experienced Typhoon Phanfone's wrath last December 25.
Typhoon Phanfone, known locally as Typhoon Ursula, brought heavy rain and storm surges. It hit as the equivalent of a Category 1 hurricane, packing sustained wind speeds of 150 kilometers (93 miles) per hour, with gusts of 195 kilometers (121 miles) per hour.
It was about 8pm when Phanfone made its landfall in our place. Electricity was cut off. It was total darkness.
The wind was crazily fierce, that it sent trembles down my spine whenever I hear the wind whistling through the night, toppling electricity pylons and trees, tearing off roofs, and damaging homes.
Phanfone brought back the trauma we had some six years ago, the only difference I guess was that it did not have a massive storm surge.
Thankfully, after what seems like forever, it left our place with a sheer abandon, but our roofs intact. However our garden did not make it.

Looking back, our lives are important, not material things. I look forward for God's Kingdom to rule, so that there will never be natural disasters that would wrech havoc and cause untimely death to individuals.
