The next step is to play with different facial hair styles. With a different look on top, you might find that a different look in front suits you better/worse.

Once I went with a much shorter top (I have a retractable roof of hair that got stuck in the open position), I started with a full beard, then for a week, I shaved it back bit by bit to see what I thought.

I prefer a clean shave as my number 1, but for number 2, I like my full beard. Nothing in between suits me (in my opinion).
