Hello, my dear reader friends and fellow entrepreneurs; I hope you are doing well and having an excellent week. Today, I’m joining the conversation on the topic of preparation—a subject that is particularly interesting in this beautiful community filled with creative people. I wanted to approach this topic by asking: "How do you prepare?" I feel that the act of preparing—and the mindset you bring to it—significantly influences the final results.
Generally, when we prepare for something, we tend to focus solely on the sequence of events and getting everything in order. While this is essential—demonstrating that we are proactive and organized, which helps avoid misunderstandings or unpleasant situations—we often focus so much on these details that we forget to actually enjoy and experience the preparation process itself. Yet, the emotions we feel during this time play an indispensable role in the outcome.
Personally, whenever I prepare for a new project or a major challenge, I notice my mind immediately jumping to to-do lists, organization, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. We want to keep everything under control to avoid surprises or awkward moments—and that is fine; it reflects our commitment. However, over time, I’ve realized that we often focus so heavily on logistics that we overlook the human side of the process: what we feel and experience while we are doing the work.
Preparing for something shouldn't feel like a burden or just another "done" item on a checklist. The emotions we bring to the journey—the anticipation, the nerves, and the excitement—are what shape the final outcome. If we approach preparation with stress, the result might work, but it will lack soul. Conversely, if we allow ourselves to enjoy the process, the learning, and even the occasional doubts, the result is not only good but also truly connects with the people around us or the place we’ve visited.
We often think an idea’s success hinges solely on the moment we present it, when in reality, most of the work and magic has already happened quietly—during those very days of planning. When we learn to let go of rigidity and allow ourselves to flow with our feelings along the way, things begin to unfold much more naturally and authentically.
That’s why, the next time we’re organizing a new project or a new step in life, we shouldn't limit ourselves to filling a calendar or ticking off a to-do list. We need to take a moment to connect with the purpose behind our actions, breathe, and enjoy our idea’s evolution; after all, preparation fueled by good energy always shows in the result—often making it a thousand times better and even full of pleasant surprises. Now I ask you: how do you prepare? Are you the type who focuses only on the tasks at hand, or on enjoying the moment and the process, or both?
