I recreated the character,Fally (an eagle) and while the forest is quite unsettled about your appearance in their territory, Phally is somewhat intrigued on the whole thing.
Though he might look generally uninterested, he's got a sharp eye for details, and is aware of what you seek.
You've got two options.
Follow him?
Or risk your life at the mercy of the forest's hostility?

I did circles first (it he wasn't a big one,so I used fewer circles)
Then I added details to define the form. (A headless buuuurrdddd)
Phew! There goes the head....
I couldn't resist painting the feet first (I love colour theory, but still learning)
