I'm torn between the dark mood and the vibrant happy color for this photo. So, I just process it in both way with just a little bit tweak. There's no heavy color tweak i've made this time. I'm still experimenting on how to create this mood by manipulating the color to the minimum. It would be very interesting if I have added a few props or maybe a fog and another couple of added lighting to add the dramatic look but we really don't have that much time to do it. Mostly this is just a fun time shoot and a gathering with fellow photographer that met from the Sony Workshop last June. This photo session is actually a month apart from the Sony Workshop that we attend. We all know the talent that we shoot that day, Cassey that I have posted Here last two weeks ago.
This time, the theme is Red Hooded Lady in a forest inspired by the The Little Red Riding Hood story and movies. There's not really much photo that I've taken during this session as this is my first time coming to this location which is called the Kota Kinabalu Wetlands Centre, the only mangrove forest that survived in the city of Kota Kinabalu. This is the place where the birds photographer enthusiast will come during a certain season to watch the rare & migratory birds that can be spotted here.
Here's a few of the photo that I have taken during the session.
There are 3 different lenses that I used during this shoot. The first one is my old tamron 28-75mm f2.8 canon mounted on my sony A7IV. This lenses is struggling with the camera body autofocus technology. It just cannot keep up with it and made my camera freeze a lot. So, I switch to sony native lenses batis 85mm f1.8 that I borrow from a friend. By using this lenses, I'm losing the versatility of the zoom lenses but then again i'm able to use the full ability of my camera. The result of this lens is very good compare to that my old canon lens as shown in the picture number 4 & 5 above. The last lens that I used is the helios 58mm f2.0. The unique characteristic of this lens made me want to have at least a few photo with swirly bokeh at the background and this location is the perfect place to get it. The last 4 picture are taken with this lens.
The time we have on location is only about 2 hours before it close and getting really dark. We started shooting at about 3:00 pm and the place is closed at 5:00 pm. So, having a few shot while having fun with friends at the weekend is actually a very much needed for me. I've been locked in a room doing editing work for mostly the whole week and going out having fun and relaxing like this really do help my mental state. This is all for now and do check my other post about this place and a few behind the scene shoots of the session Here - Behind The Scene Still
Have a great day everyone.
