I have posted the Laya Laya Flying Field yesterday and my lady luck has presented me with this unique situation of buffalo being chase by their owner. When they came to the resting site where I park my car under the shade of this huge tree, they said that they were catching a buffalo for the two different owners. The way they catch it is very unique to them in which they used a white flag to scare them or to herds them to a certain place. They said that, the buffalo have recognized this white flag as their captor and as soon as they see this flag, they will run away from it.
This field is huge and there's this one field clear from high grasses and tree is the take-off run away for the paramotor and paraglider pilot. As soon as I arrived here, I already saw the buffalo catcher truck at the end of the run away flagging their white flag towards the herds of buffalo. That's when I see from their location that the herds are running towards the main road got me the idea to fly my drone above them. Here's the aerial photo that I managed to get during the chasing. Too bad that my drone battery running out early I cannot continued to chase them.
I have the idea's of flying close and low to get that sense of their running movement but this is all that I managed to get in the fleet of moments. It's regrettable that I didn't charge my batteries fully and not ready for this moment. By the time the herds of buffalo went to the other side of the field, the buffalo chaser went to get some rest under the tree and we have a small chat while watching the paramotor pilot that have arrived shortly assembling his glider. It turns out that the pilot and the local people here were regular and they know each other for a long time now. Its me who are the first timer to come to this place.
I have not been able to wait for the paramotor pilot to take off as I'm chasing for a place to watch the sunsets. I decided to take my leave early and went to have a drink in one of the floating restaurant near this field. I drive along the grabble road and happen to bump up again with the few buffalo on the side of the road. I thought I can get a good view of them by getting close but they seems quite shy or maybe they already associate me with the people that were chasing them earlier. They started to run away from me and this is the only photo that I get. Showing their back on me while running away.
This whole buffalo running being chase by their owner is something that I never expected when I came here. I just want to see how this place look like and fly my drone to my heart content. The appearance of the herds of buffalo are really me being in the right time and place. I should do this kind of thing travelling and just go to where the heart desired to see the world around us and be gifted with this special moments. Until next post, have a great day everyone.
