I knew it had been a long day the moment everyone went quiet on the way back. 馃槃
That's usually a sign we've had a good adventure.
We spent the day trekking with family, taking our time along the trail instead of rushing from one point to the next. There were plenty of little stops鈥攕ometimes to admire the view, sometimes just to catch our breath, and sometimes because someone spotted something interesting along the way. Those moments ended up being just as memorable as the trek itself.
The trail had a bit of everything, from easy stretches to climbs that made us work for the next viewpoint. Tired legs were definitely part of the experience, but so were the laughs, conversations, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature instead of notifications.
Only after getting home did I glance at my tracker. It read 53k steps, easily one of my biggest totals in a long time. No wonder my feet were asking for a well-earned rest!
Days like this remind me that the best kind of exercise is the kind you barely think about while you're doing it. When you're focused on the people beside you and the path ahead, the distance almost takes care of itself.
What's one outdoor trip that left you happily exhausted by the end of the day? I'd love to hear about it.
