Today reminded me that not every chapter of the journey is a highlight reel.
I still started the morning the same way I usually do—a quiet walk, a little jogging, and a few simple exercises to get my body moving. It felt good at the time, and I honestly thought I'd have plenty of opportunities to add more steps as the day went on.
But the day filled up faster than I expected. Work, daily responsibilities, and a few unexpected tasks kept pulling me in different directions. I managed my usual short walks after lunch and dinner, but they were shorter than usual, and before I knew it, the day was over.
When I checked my tracker, it showed 7k steps.
For a moment, I was tempted to focus on the number. Then I remembered something I've learned over the past few months: one quieter day doesn't cancel out all the active ones before it. I'd rather have a routine that survives busy days than one that only works when life is perfect.
Tomorrow is another chance to move. Today was simply part of the process.
How do you handle days when life gets in the way of your routine? Do you try to make up for it, or do you just reset and keep going?
