There is a spider the size of a silver dollar in my room. Being in Bali, this doesn't surprise me. I know she's aware of my presence and I hope that for the two days she's decided to move in, she has figured out by now that I won't hurt her. (I'm guessing it's a "she" because females are usually bigger.) But the way she flinches and hides when I move makes me think she instinctively believes that I will though. She is right to trust that, for her general survival in the future wherever fate takes her.

I hope she doesn't get any weird ideas to crawl on my face like that other spider in the Philippines. That experience made me realize how much I really hated that feeling. (Yes, "hate" is a strong word and I'm using it deliberately.) If she wants to be roommates, I expect her to respect my boundaries unlike these uncivilized mosquitos that I hope she'll eat. I think it's only fair.
